Stop Loving Everything

Friday, June 1, 2012

No.

Not today at least, it's been such a good day.  Why? Because I love a lot of things in my life right now.  Yes, I'm making another list people, it's what I do.

The "Life, I'm Liking Loving You  As Well As These Other Things Right Now" List:
- rock climbing
- my friends Sasha, Danielle, Melanie, & Kristopher
- the muscles sprouting on my forearms
- music, particularly this song by The Botaniks feat. Bernhoft - Fond of Jane and this song by Usher - Climax
- my job and the women I work with, its nice to be surrounded by people older than you sometimes
- my iPhone
- yoga in the mornings
- relationship advice from the father, stepmum, & real mum.
- crisp mountain air - Utah summers are incredible
- the great weather
- mechanical pencils
- Amazon prime
- Southwest Airlines - I leave for AZ tonight
- my next weeks layout: climbing e'ry day, sailing, Mexico con mi madre, & American Fork canyon climb w/friends
- my next 6 weeks plans: California w/Tori, a huge party, St. George lake trip, Zion's National Park, then off to Paris with Melanie!
- more hours at work = more money, we all love that green stuff
- General Conference talks in the morning
- my Book of Mormon, was so excited reading today

RE:GENERATION

Thursday, February 23, 2012

I was able to see this movie with my mother when I was down in Arizona last week.  The movie was exactly what I expected...as if the music universe EXPLODED all over the crowd's face and body leaving only a few with the music shards and remnants that I never quite washed off.  For every music guru, song writer, producer, DJ, enthusiast, connoisseur, for anyone who ever was/is/will be affected by the movement music creates in humans out there...I'm telling you now: go see this movie.  It truly is brilliant to see a song go through it's entire creative process.  These are the finished products:

1.  My Any Time of Day Favorite:  "Wayfaring Stranger"
I don't think Pretty Lights necessarily did the best job as a Producer, but the feel he captured with the song is my favorite.

2. Favorite Sound:  "Breakin' A Sweat" Skrillex/The Doors

3.  The Most Artsy Enjoyable:  "A La Modeliste" Mark Ronson

4.  Most Talented DJ The Crystal Method(and my mother's favorite):

5. Classically Classic Rap Song: DJ Premier/Classical - Vivaldi

Kick Push

cookies n cream folks
Oh Lupe, kicking and pushing. Love this song. Almost as much as I love making lists.
For example, today, I attempted walking to class again. This is my fourth attempt this week and fourth fail. It's so unintelligent and silly, every time I'm so hopeful as I drive to school straight from work and it literally doesn't cross my mind that my leg might not be good enough. Then I end up at the nearest building to where I parked, on a chair or in a bathroom frustrated. So as I sat in the Wilk Bookstore's bathroom today and while the leg frustration was getting flushed from my system I wrote this one:
Things I've Learned From Life Since My Right Knee...Happened:
     1. Being alone is not as bad of a thing as I had imagined it to be in my head.
     2. Be sober, Listen more.
     3. Rely on the Lord.
     4. Sometimes in life you really do need help, you can't do it on your own, and that's okay.
     5. People care, genuinely, way more often than you'd expect.
     6. Don't try to make a deal with God, bargaining when you have no leverage is just a bad idea.
     7. Smiling, despite conditions, makes life better.
     8. Be careful what you laugh at.
     9. Good Sleep saturates your day life.
   10. Submission & Sacrifice are two of life's most brilliant Teachers.
And most of all, I will forever have ingrained in my soul a refreshed love for good health. I freaking love moving, I love sports, dancing, basketball, yoga, I love using my legs to drive, to walk to class, to walk and sit where ever I want in church, at a movie, or in class, to walk up/down stairs, jumping into my bed, running, doing somersaults, climbing trees, getting out my car to fill up with gas, taking the trash out, walking down store isles, lifting boxes when I move, jumping to get something on the high shelf, being able to crawl under a table if I need to get something, etc etc.
And I love that even without my right knee I can have an awesome time hanging out with my man and/or friends. Tonight included.
